December Photo Funfest

I'm linking up with Miss Nelson at Run! Miss Nelson's Got the Camera (who by the way has one of my very favorite blog headers) and sharing some December pictures.  

This might just be my favorite holiday gift ever!  What a fabulous kiddo and/or mom who asked her kiddo to do this.  :)

I got so excited about doing RACK with the kiddos this year.  We made bookmarks, cards, snowflakes, and art pieces/posters with candy canes.  They had tons of fun and so did I!

In reading, we looked at 4 different books and talked about common themes we found.  I was hoping to get across thankfulness, kindness, and compassion. My Penguin Osbert is my favorite holiday book.  Take a look at it if you haven't seen it before.

After reading one of the teacher ideas in the TpT 2012 Holiday 3-6 E-Book, I started a new classroom tradition of compliment bags, which quickly became "RACK sacks".  Students could write compliments and letters to classmates that would be saved in RACK sacks until the last day before the break.  All students brought in small gift items and filled up the sacks on the 21st.  The kids had a killer time looking through all the stuff and had a fun little gift bag to take home that day.  I think this might be a new Mrs. Smith's class tradition.

Elf Hunting!  Thanks so much to Rachel Lynette for this great freebie!  This was an awesome fast finisher that we did throughout the week.  Luckily our elves took pictures of where they were hiding.  Some of them were quite tricky.

   

Teacher Christmas!  Sadly, this year the high school basketball game got in the way of our Teacher Christmas tradition, so these photos are from past Teacher Christmases.  Every year we jet to my place right after work on the last day of school before the break and open (or show off) our teacher gifts all while eating yummy treats and chatting happily knowing the whole break is in front of us.    

 

 

 

We just got back from our Christmas trip to Utah to visit our families.  Lily loves, loves, loves being in the car!
